Coppell Texas is a city in the far North East part of
Dallas and
Denton
Counties.
It is a suburb of Dallas
and bedroom community of the DFW Metroplex.
The population according to the 2006
estimate was 39,175.
The city is located on 14 square miles of
land. *
Originally named, “Gibbs Station” after Barnett
Gibbs, Coppell was settled by German and French immigrants in the
1840’s.
In 1955 the community was incorporated and
spurned by the opening of the Dallas Fort Worth Airport in 1974 it was
transformed from a tiny farming community to an upper class suburban
community.
